"Thank you for helping me with my backyard Victor."

Lucy smiled as she wiped beads of sweat from her forehead with one gloved hand. Vector rolled his eyes as he dumped freshly mown grass into a large eco can. "I told you Lucy, it's Vector, not Victor." Lucy put her hands on her hips, her smile turning to a frown. "And I told you that I don't know you by that name, so you're staying Victor, got it?" Vector nodded quickly, taking a step back bumping into the lawn mower. Lucy shook her head as she chuckled while she grabbed the can and took it to the side yard, and came back to see Vector wiping his hands on his bright orange pants. Lucy didn't know why he was wearing his so-called "warm-up suit" on a day like this. It was a hot, sunny day in the middle of July at Lucy's house, and instead of wearing her usual getup, she was wearing blue jean shorts, a blue tank top, sneakers, and her hair was up in a pony tail with a red and white checkered bandana tied around it.

"Why did you help me anyways?"

Lucy had been wondering that for a while now, and seeing Vector chuckle made her feel better. "You're an old family friend. How could I not help the woman I've known since I was two!?" Lucy nodded in agreement, and gestured for him to sit down in one of her custom made bamboo chairs as she walked into her air conditioned house. She walked to the kitchen and opened the fridge, sighing with relief as a blow of cold air fell on her. She grabbed a large pitcher of lemonade and poured two glasses, and walked back outside after putting it away. She gave a glass to Vector and sat down next to him, enjoying the shade under her white awning. As she took a sip, she suddenly remembered what she had planned for the afternoon, and nearly choked on her mouthful of sweet liquid.

"You should go now."

Vector looked up at her with a puzzled expression. "Why?" Lucy grimaced. "I just remembered that my fiancé and his girls are coming to take me to the movies." Vector smiled. "Then I should come along with you! It would be fun to finally meet this 'fun and caring' man you have kept telling me about!" She shook her head. "No. I think you should-" She was broken off by a little girl's voice coming from her side yard, and she quickly took another sip of lemonade to try and get rid of the stress building up inside of her. "Lucy!? Luuuuuuuuucyyyyyyyyy!!!" She groaned. "Too late," she murmured as three girls rounded the corner, bright smiles on their faces. "Hi Lucy!," they all said in unison as they ran up to her, tackling her with one large group hug. "Hi Margo. Hi Edith. Hi Agnes," said Lucy, giving each girl a small squeeze as she stood up. She couldn't help but smile as Gru rounded the corner, and she gave him a short, tight hug in greeting.

"GRU!?"

She breathed out in fear as she stepped back from Gru, standing in front of the two rivals. "Vector!? What are you doing here!?" He glared at Lucy as the girls quickly ran and hid behind his tall legs, fearful expressions on their faces. "I was helping Lucy with her yard. What are you doing here?" Lucy gave Gru a look of not to answer, and Gru turned to the girls. "Go wait in the car." The girls nodded and quickly scampered away, leaving the three in the middle of the patio. "You have some explaining to do Lucy," said Gru, tapping his foot as he crossed his arms. Lucy chuckled nervously as she introduced each person. "I know you have met before, but let me introduce you my way. Gru, this is Victor. He's a long time friend of mine that I've known ever since I was four years old." Gru glared at Vector as he muttered about his old name, and Lucy turned to Gru, gulping nervously. "Victor, dear. This is Gru. He's my-" Gru quickly interrupted her as he stepped forwards, now only an inch away from Vector. "I'm her fiancé," said Gru, smiling deviously at his arch-enemy. Vector's sneer turned into a look of upmost shock, and he looked at Lucy with a shot of betrayal. "WHAT!? You tell me of this really nice, sweet, caring guy and GRU IS THE GUY!?" Lucy nodded.

"My best friend is getting married to my rival. Great."

The two started to bicker, their yelling getting louder with every second. Lucy breathed in slowly, trying to make sure she didn't let her mean side out. She slowly undid her hair, folding the bandana and laying it on her chair as the two men kept arguing. She undid her ponytail and shook her hair, a few leaved falling out of it. She then took off her gloves, and broke her boiling point. She stepped in between the two men, throwing her gloves on the ground. "BE QUIET!" Gru and Vector quickly became dead quiet, staring at Lucy with utmost shock. "You two are grown men. You shouldn't be bickering like two little girls arguing over who is the prettiest. If it makes you feel better, you two aren't the cutest fish in the sea. Now how about you two start acting like grown men, get to like each other, and deal with the fact that one of you is my best friend and that one of you is the man I am going to be married to." He anger then ended and she grabbed Vector and Gru's hands. She dragged them behind her out to the driveway, and past Gru's oversized car, where the three girls were watching. She let go of Gru's hand and kept dragging Vector along with her, walking down the sidewalk until she reached a pure white car. "Get in, and leave." She let go and walked back to Gru, who was watching in fright of what she would do next. "Start the car, and let's go." He nodded and the pair got in
the car.

"What was that about!?"

Gru asked the question minutes after, and Lucy sighed. "I didn't want you two to bicker, ok? I've had so many arguments in my life that I don't want to hear them anymore. I just want you to accept that Victor was my only friend, and he has been up to this day. And I wanted him to accept that I was marrying the man I truly love." Gru put on a smile. "Ok. We actually were fine with it zhough." Lucy glared at him. "What? WHAT!?" He chuckled. "We've been talking to each other over the phone a lot, trying to get used to each other. We wanted to see where you would go with ze whole arguing thing, and we were right. Everyone does have a dark side." Lucy groaned and suddenly started to chuckle. "Fine, fine." She laid back, the girls talking about the latest unicorn board game, and thought about what Gru had said. It sure was a funny experiment the two had planned, and she had to admit that it was a good one too. So he was right about everyone having a dark side.

But he didn't know about how every one had secrets.
I know this story is really crappy, but I was really tired when I wrote this. I was writing it, and all of a sudden my computer shut down, so I lost half of it and I had to redo it, so it wasn't as good. Hope it's ok.
